Susan E. Thomas serves as President of the Fifth Third Community Development Company (CDC).  The CDC invests in low-income housing, historic, and new markets tax credits that support community revitalization and the creation and preservation of affordable housing.  It also invests in CDFIs and MDI.  Prior to leading the Fifth Third CDC, Susan served as a Commercial Real Estate Director at Fifth Third.

Susan joined Fifth Third from The Port in Cincinnati where she served as Executive Vice President.  A public finance expert, she issued over $500 million in bonds for economic development projects and structured three impact investment opportunities.  She was instrumental in the establishment of the county land bank.

Prior to joining The Port, Ms. Thomas was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley in New York.  Ms. Thomas holds a BA in Public Policy from Stanford University and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
